Through drawing, installation, dance, performance or video, Nathalie Rias questions the coexistence of different temporalities and their possible reactivation through perceptual and linguistic experimentation. In order to create with children, the artist was inspired by literary forms, such as the surrealist “cadavre exquis” or the principle from Georges Pérec’s book “Tentative d’épuisement d’un lieu parisien”. The film “Et puis c’est tout” (2012) mixes collective and individual scenes, past discussions and projections. If the first question by the artist was: “How are we going to produce an aesthetic form together?” the piece evokes the encounter between the artist and the students, moments of incomprehension as well as poetic moments.

Nathalie Rias lives and works in Paris. A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts de Nantes, she also holds a master’s degree in theatre studies (Paris 3 Sorbonne-Nouvelle). She participated in several training courses in acting, playwriting, dance and corporal expression.

The project was sponsored by the Seine-Saint-Denis department within the « La Culture et l’Art au Collège » program.
